When you're new to the world of driving, harnesses can seem so mind-boggling! Unless you've already been driving for years, chances are you look at harnesses with an air of bewilderment. There are so many straps... what in the bleep are they all for?! Allow me to break it down for you. When I was new to driving, I noticed that once I understood the general purpose of each strap, then it all started to make sense. In mini-course, I'll take you through a guided tour of both a breast collar and a collar-and-hames style harness. I'll show you how to put it on your horse (even if your horse is tall and you're not!) and secure it safely, what every piece is called and what it does, and, of course, how to fit it to your horse.
