A strong foundation is key to a balanced, well-rounded horse. In this weekend clinic, you'll develop essential skills from the ground in a straightforward way, focusing on both mental and physical balance to build a solid partnership that can take you and your horse in any direction.
The first day will explore various groundwork techniques, including intentional leading work, basic ground manners, Academic groundwork, and thoughtful longe work. On the second day, you can choose to continue with groundwork or apply these skills to driving or riding.
All horses and humans are warmly welcome. Throughout the clinic, you'll work in a supportive, collaborative environment with personalized guidance tailored to your unique horse-human relationship.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Each participant will get three individual lessons over the course of the weekend. There will be theory classes both days to dig deeper into the topics that are coming up in the lessons, and of course plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
All lessons will be held in the spacious indoor arena. Theory sessions will take place in the heated tack room. A washroom is available in the barn. Please bring your own chair. Dress for the weather – blankets are encouraged!
We will take a 45-minute lunch break each day. There will be some water and light snacks available. Bring your own bagged lunch and water bottle.
WHAT TO BRING
-
All horses should have a well-fitting halter and lead rope. No chains, please.
-
A cavesson is strongly recommended for groundwork and longe work, along with a light-weight line of good length (10' / 3m minimum).
-
Please bring a dressage whip or light stick of similar length, and a longer whip if you want to focus on longe work.
-
If you intend on driving or riding on the second day, please bring the tack you normally use.
Note: If you intend on driving your horse put to a vehicle, please ensure that your horse is safe to hitch and drive in an unfamiliar area unassisted. This clinic is not a suitable opportunity to try hitching for the first time. Ground driving is welcome and encouraged if in doubt.
